“ Capitole is one of the best places in Beirut and one of my personal favorites. Yesterday, we went early to sit at the bar, where no reservation is usually needed. The hostess directed us to the upper bar, but as we were heading up, we noticed several free spots at the lower bar. The guests seated there mentioned the spots were free, so we settled in. Shortly after, the hostess returned and, in a rather rude manner, asked us to move back to the upper bar. The approach felt quite uncomfortable and disappointing, especially given the otherwise great atmosphere. We raised the issue with upper management and are awaiting their reply. Overall, I still highly recommend Capitole—table reservations are best, but for smaller groups of 2–3 people, the bar seating is a great option ”
